Distillation columns in general are costly to build and operate. The hydraulic performance of column internals is important in terms of separation efficiency and product quality, making operation and troubleshooting of columns critical in maximizing production.  Rigorous analysis of column hydraulics and performance technology known as Column Analysis in Aspen Plus model simulator can greatly improve energy utilization, reduce capital costs, and boost operating flexibility in both conceptual design and in equipment rating and design.

By the end of this Computer Based Training course, you will be able to:

·         Create a column internals configuration

·         Specify the tray and packing geometry

·         View the column hydraulic plots

·         Convert the design model into a rating model and use that model for operational troubleshooting in Aspen Plus

Prerequisites

Basic knowledge of Aspen Plus.

Playing the Viewlet

A Viewlet is an animation sequence constructed by capturing a series of screen shots from a software application. Viewlets are used to demonstrate product features and to train users in simple procedures.
