Problem Statement
CIM IO is the main Aspentech application that connects to the OPC server. There might be cases in which an AT application that requests a significant amount of tags from delta V, will not work and mark the tags invalid. For example, Collect.exe, can request a significant amount of tags at the same time, but in this situation IDB_ST_ERROR’s are outputted for previously test API validated tags.
Changing CIM IO list size in the collect file does not seem to work, neither creating an environmental variable (to perform cache reads) according to KB
https://esupport.aspentech.com/S_Article?id=000074039
This error is difficult to diagnose with test API GET, since test API requests one tag at a time.
The procedure in KB https://esupport.aspentech.com/S_Article?id=000064839 has been proved useful to diagnose this kind of error, since it will mark blocks of bad data that are good with test API.
Solution
Make sure the customer has enough license points on the deltva V historian, check on KB
https://esupport.aspentech.com/S_Article?id=000087408, error:
0xC004080B: Exceeded OPC Server license limit. Item not added. On the OPC machine.
After adding new licenses, a restart of the OPC machine might be needed to broadcast the additional points.
