Customer menus are one-click URL access that calls certain or specific pages from any APC applications, for example, the use of one specific History plots for Variable X. instead of going Controller X > Variable X > Open AspenWatch Menu > History Plots.
You can simply locate a custom Menu on the PCWS tabs and click directly on the URL for that specific History plot.
Note: This can be customized for any page that contains an URL (Internal or External if you have internet access)
Solution
The Steps to create the Custom Menu are the following:
On PCWS go to Configuration, then Custom Menus, and click Add
This will pop up a new window with some information required.
On application, you can select any (it will do not matter if it is ACO, RTE , IQ, or composite). the page will be added to the top ribbon on any application selected.
Menu Item will be the name of your customer menu. And for the URL section, I will use the URL from the page you want to call (History plot, PCWS Plots, A1PE, New APC Interface, Any Subcontroller etc.)
You can click to test to verify the URL is pointing to the right direction
Finally, go back to the application and you will see the new link on the top ribbon under the custom tab
