Problem Statement
When installing GDOT Unified the first time, it requires creating some databases and check on them on SQL. Additionally, SQL is requiring for the history and data collection for GDOT application. However, there could be some connectivity problem on the Database and additionally, the connection to the Database may affect the starting of Unified Agent Service.
Solution
The Unified Agent Service basically requires another important service to start which is the
SQL Server Service
(the name of the server will depend on the version). Every time to start the server or reboot the server make sure that the SQL Server service is running.
This service requires a Local Administrator account to run and can be set to Automatic so it can start at boot.
When the service is stopped you would see most likely two different symptoms.
1.- Unified Service Agent would not be able to start and return Error 1503
2.- Trying to access your SQL database it will return fail to in the connection displaying the following error
