Problem Statement
Aspen Watch keeps the history of the DMC3 parameters in the Attribute field. When the user launches the history plot from the PCWS it selects a predefined list. For CVs it shows measurement (DEP), Steady State Target (SSDEP), Model Prediction (PRDMDLD), Operator High limit (UDEPTG) and Operator Low limit (LDEPTG).
Solution
You can add additional trends in the history view by searching the tag in the top left section. The tag format on Aspen Watch follows:
CXXY_VAR
XX: Controller ID in Aspen Watch
Y: (I) Independent or (D) Dependent
VAR: Variable name in DMC3 controller
For example, I want to add the HD_FLOWSP independent measurement and steady state target to the trend. Type the variable name and click “Add”
This will default to the measurement in the trend:
Now, for the Steady State target. Click on the Search icon to show the full list of available parameters.
Then in the search menu you can filter the search results by clicking on the APC Input filter. Then select to expand the “More” menu and “Results” type.
Click on “Select” and then “Return Selected”. This will add the trend to your current plot. Note that you can select multiple attributes (highlighted in yellow) before returning to the plot.
