Background
Some versions of the Aspen InfoPlus.21 Administrator provided a way for users to configure and control an Aspen Cim-IO server to which a connection had been established. This was done through right-click menu choices on the I/O container in the Administrator. Those menu choices were removed but some functionality has now been restored starting with V14 and with a patched version of V12.2.1.
Requirements
The functionality which has been restored is present in a patched version of 12.2.1:

The following is an excerpt from the Cumulative Patch 1 release notes (which are available, along with the patch, from the link above):
Aspen InfoPlus.21
Start or Stop remote interface connections
from Aspen InfoPlus.21 Administrator
New functions have been added to the Aspen InfoPlus.21 Administrator that
allow you to start or stop a Cim-IO interface connection running on a remote
Cim-IO server.
More about this feature can be found in the Aspen InfoPlus.21 Administration
Tools Help and the Aspen Cim-IO Interface Manager Help.
It is also present natively in V14 - no patch required.
Configuration
The functionality that has been restored is dependent on settings which can be found in the
Aspen Cim-IO Interface Manager (CIM)
. These settings will only be found if the Cim-IO server is V12.2.1 CP1 or V14 (or higher).
Open the
CIM
and switch to the Manager Parameters tab:
On this screen, click the checkbox for '
Accept remote interface start/stop commands
' and designate appropriate Cim-IO client nodes which will be allowed to control the server:
Don't forget to click the '
Save Configuration
' button when finished.
The right-click commands to start and stop the Cim-IO server will now be available in the InfoPlus.21 Administrator:
Notes
The configuration above also applies to the ability to start and stop the Cim-IO server through the
Aspen Cim-IO IP.21 Connection Manager (CCM)
, using selections demonstrated in the screenshots below:
In addition, if an attempt to start or stop the interface is made from a V12.2.1 CP1 or a V14 system to a Cim-IO server which is not the appropriate version or which has not been properly configured then a message saying the following will be presented:
CIMIO_MGMT_ACCESS_DENIED, Access denied to remote transaction
