An Aspen Plus Certified User has the in-depth understanding and practical skills required to build models and interpret results using Aspen HYSYS. The certified user is also capable of applying simulation skills to solve real world problems and achieve their sustainability goals.
Passing this exam will demonstrate that you have the skills in building process simulations including defining the properties environment, creating flowsheets with unit operations, and utilizing available tools for analysis and reporting. You will be able to demonstrate fluency with some more advanced topics such as convergence, troubleshooting, and detailed distillation modeling.

Expert
An Aspen Plus Certified Expert User has an in-depth understanding and practical skills required to build large models and interpret results of an existing plant using Aspen Plus.
Passing this exam will demonstrate your skills in building process simulations including defining the properties, creating large flowsheets with various unit operations and recycle streams, reporting physical properties at different locations. This person also demonstrates expertise with some more advanced topics such as property parameter regression, detailed distillation modeling, sensitivity analysis, design specs, calculator blocks, convergence, and troubleshooting.

An Aspen Plus Certified Master User for Polymers demonstrates the advanced knowledge and practical expertise required to build, analyze and troubleshoot complex process simulations using Aspen Plus.
Passing this master-level examination validates proficiency in advanced process simulation workflows, including polymerization modeling (chain growth and step growth), molecular weight distributions, reactor kinetics, thermodynamic model selection and calibration (including appropriate property methods for polymer systems), rate-based separations, global convergence strategies, and systematic troubleshooting of complex simulations.
The certification also assesses the ability to apply Aspen Plus to sustainability challenges, including energy efficiency, industrial decarbonization, techno-economic evaluation, and carbon footprint analysis.
