  • Recognize the features and functional capability of the Aspen Air-Cooled Exchanger application
  • Workshop 1: Design a Water Cooler – Design a single-phase heat exchanger using the Aspen Air-Cooled Exchanger program for a range of outside stream exit temperatures, minimizing the capital operating costs.
  • Workshop 2: Check a Water Cooler – Determine if there is sufficient area available to cool a process fluid to the required temperature for a forced-draught air-cooled heat exchanger.
  • Workshop 3: Simulate a Condenser – Determine the tube side outlet temperature for a forced-draught air-cooled heat exchanger that is operating at a specified altitude.
Applications of Air-Cooled Exchangers
  • Discuss the characteristics and applicability of tubular crossflow exchangers – most notably air-cooled heat exchangers
