Aspen Operations Reconciliation and Accounting (AORA)

Aspen Operations Reconciliation and Accounting (AORA) is used to reconcile refinery production data (from mass balances/simulations) with plant accounting data. This course will enable you to configure and use an AORA model to store, retain history and present operations accounting information and to be able to supervise or maintain an AORA system.

Approach

  • Explain the basic principles of the AORA system and database and re-enforce them through hands-on activities using AORA, the AORA Expert System, and the AORA Reporter
  • AORA V11.0 is used as an example system
  • A view of a small refinery sample model is presented to demonstrate the navigation features of AORA, such as zooming and searching for objects. 
  • Outline techniques for system maintenance and management, and provide opportunities to try these out on demonstration models
  • Illustrate and practice different methods of accessing and editing model information
  • Explain the process of entering daily operations data using the list box method within AORA 
  • Discuss other methods of data entry including the AORA Spreadsheet Interface, the AORA Excel Add-in and AORA Connect
  • Demonstrate the Expert System features and controls
  • Review the standard methods for reviewing and modifying reconciliation results in order to reach an overall balance
  • Show how to obtain data using AORA Reporter 

Pre-requisites

Attendees should be familiar with Microsoft Windows Server 2008 - 2016 or Windows 7, 8.1 or 10 system administration techniques such as adding users
