Attention: This course is depevelped by assembling the topics we offer in other HYSYS courses (EHY101, EHY202 and EHY235) and reorganized as Liquefied Natural Gas Plant course. Hence some topics in this course overlap with the ones covered in other HYSYS courses (EHY101, EHY202 and EHY235).
 
Introduction to Aspen Upstream
  • Introduction to Aspen HYSYS Upstream basis
  • Describe the key product features
Heavy Oil Characterization
  • Specify material streams using Oil & Gas Feed capabilities and calculate unknown heavy oil properties
  • Select crude oil information from the built-in HYSYS library of worldwide crude samples
  • Work with the Macro Cut table as an option for defining the Oil & Gas Feed
  • Workshop: Perform Heavy Oil Characterization Build a composition based flowsheet
Model a Gas Oil Separation Plant (GOSP)
  • Build a composition based flowsheet
  • Add additional properties to streams through the use of property correlations
  • Use the Adjust logical operation to achieve a process objective
  • Use the Production Allocation Utility to allocate production flow rates among contributing wells.

  • Utilize the Air Demand Analyzer to improve the overall performance
  • Workshop: Model a Sulfur Recovery Unit (SRU) by configuring the thermal and catalytic stages using the Specialized Sulfur Recovery Sub-Flowsheet tools and increase the overall performance using the Air Demand Analyzer.
Gas Dehydration
  • Review methods for saturating a hydrocarbon stream with water in Aspen HYSYS
  • Use the Hydrate Formation Analysis to calculate hydrate formation temperatures and pressures
  • Build a vacuum distillation tower with side draws and pump arounds
  • Apply the Recycle operation as a flowsheet-building tool appropriate for a variety of simulations
  • Workshop Gas Dehydration: Model a typical gas dehydration unit and study gas saturation, hydrate formation conditions, and unit operation performance throughout the model
 
 
 
Mercury Removal
  • Define a Production Allocation analysis
  • Track contribution, and review results using the Case Study tool.
  • Apply Lumper/Delupmer operations to modify the total number of components
  • Monitor mercury free phase and mercury distribution

NGL Fractionation
