Modeling and Optimizing FCC Reactor Using Aspen HYSYS Petroleum Refining

Modeling an ideal refinery is key to successful operations to prevent bottlenecks and maximize profits. In this class, you will learn and apply best practices to build, troubleshoot and optimize FCC reactor model unit using Aspen HYSYS® Petroleum Refining. In this class, you will also learn technique to generate delta vectors which can be used in the refinery LP planning model (Aspen PIMS) to improve refinery crude feedstock selection and plant-wide optimization. This customized course is primarily workshop-based with an introductory lecture and demonstration.

Audience:

  • Refinery process and design professionals working in the operation, design and troubleshooting of all refining activities especially those with a focus on the Fluid Catalytic Cracking Unit
  • Process engineers doing refinery process design and optimization projects and studies
  • Plant and Facility engineers who evaluate FCC reactor performance under different operating conditions
  • Process engineers wishing to gain a perspective of how the FCCU fits into the operation of a complete refining plant
