This course focuses on Aspen Plus solutions on carbon capture, energy analysis and optimization, hydrogen economy and biomass applications, where each topic contains real application case studies to illustrate the modeling skills.  The course participants will acquire the ability to formulate their own sustainability development strategy and predict the benefits by using Aspen Plus solution.

Pre-requisites

The participant must have some Aspen Plus modeling experience and is able to build a complete process.   

Agenda

  • Understand CO2 absorption using chemical solvent and physical solvent modeling skills.  Learn the basic steps to build a complete CO2 capture process. 
  • Learn how to activate energy analysis for an existing model.  Explain the carbon tracking data and understand the different heat exchanger network retrofit plans from activation results. 
  • Identify the classification of hydrogen production. Understand how to use the Alkaline Electrolyzer Model.  
  • Recognize biomass applications in chemical industry. Learn the composition characterization method for common biomass.
