Course Overview: The development of CO₂ capture solvents is a core component of Carbon Capture, Utilization, and Storage (CCUS) technology. Efficient solvents can significantly enhance the CO₂ absorption rate and reduce energy consumption, providing crucial technical support for industrial emission reduction. However, the complexity and variability of CO₂ solvent systems pose numerous challenges to the process simulation. This course will focus on two topics. First, development of CO2 capture solvent property through Aspen Properties. Second, CO2 capture process design and rating through Aspen Plus and Aspen HYSYS.
