Online Class: Design and Rate Shell and Tube Heat Exchangers

This is the “Online” version of our popular EHX101 Aspen Shell and Tube Foundations class. This Online version is delivered through a combination of self-paced eLearning that you can complete over 2 weeks with live, online expert-led sessions, hands-on workshops and interactive online discussion boards.  Students usually spend 8 to 12 hours per week to complete this online course.

Upon successful completion of this course, you will be able to:
  • Design shell & tube heat exchangers
  • Rate and simulate existing heat exchangers
  • Understand the Aspen Exchanger Design & Rating (EDR) product suite and use it with process simulators 
  • Generate TEMA reports for presenting data to vendors
  • Toubleshoot common vibrations problems in a heat exchanger
Pre-Class Tutorial:
To prepare for this course we strongly recommend that you complete the eLearning module ‘Aspen Exchanger Design and Rating: Learn the Basics’ (ATEL-151-EN) prior to the class.

Agenda

Each week starts with short, online instruction by a live expert through a web meeting. The rest of the week is self-paced. Students exchange ideas, get help and interact with the class & instructor through an online discussion board.  The online discussion board is open throughout the class and is monitored by the instructor during fixed hours.
