Problem Statement
From V11, AspenONE Process Explorer was including as the primary tool to display HTP plots from AspenWatch on PCWS. However, some problems could happen as difficulties to access the tool or error as "Unable to acquire SLM_RN_ALL_ASPENONEPCXP”. However, PCWS offers different options for plotting the AW Information. This KB explains the different types of plots that can be used and how to set them up.

Solution
The three types of plots that PCWS can be use are:

AspenONE Process Explorer – This type of plot is used as the main engine of the Process Explorer technology which is one of the main Data explorer and trending tools from IP21. This tool requires the SLM_RN_ALL_ASPENONEPCXP to work, and if the key is missing these plots may fail to open or display the information. This type of plot was introducing from V11.

Web.21 HTP – These types of plots are the legacy plots used in PCWS. The display fundamentally consists of the basic similar functionalities as the AspenONE Process Explorer as it allows us to see the IP21 AW data. This type of plot does not require the SLM_RN_ALL_ASPENONEPCXP key.

The type of plot can be changed from PCWS by going to the Preferences tab and then Select the plot option:
